New York–based investment research firm CFRA is expanding its ETF data offering to the Canadian market.

The data will allow advisors to compare information about ETFs’ constituent holdings, strategies, expense ratios, underlying indexes and historical returns since inception, the firm said Wednesday in a release.

The product can be integrated into existing portfolio analysis tools, the release said.

“For years, we have been guiding investors and advisors that it is crucial they look ‘under the hood’ of any ETF on their respective radar,” said Todd Rosenbluth, CFRA’s head of mutual fund and ETF research, in a statement.

The firm’s data provide information not only on holdings, he said, but also “what impacts those holdings may have on other parts of their respective portfolios.”
